Leeds Teaching Hospitals has been announced as North East & Yorkshire Regional Champion in The Nursing and Midwifery category at this year’s NHS Parliamentary Awards.
The awards will mark the NHS’s 75th birthday next month, with MPs nominating the individuals or teams they thought have made the biggest improvements to health and care services in their constituencies across 10 categories.
The entry recognises the approach of Misbah Mahmood, Deputy Chief Midwifery Information Officer. Misbah played a leading role in the implementation of LTHT’s digital maternity care pathway and champions digital midwifery transformation at a regional and national level, supporting networking, joint problem solving and enabling the sharing of best practice.
Misbah was nominated by Stuart Andrew MP, Richard Burgon MP, Fabian Hamilton MP and Rachel Reeves MP. The regional champions will now go head-to-head with other winners from across the country for a national award to be presented at a special ceremony in Westminster on 5 July.
