On Wednesday 26 March Leeds Children’s Hospital welcomed ‘Hospital Inspectors’ from Rosebank Primary School in Leeds. Six pupils from years five and six set out to find out more about Leeds Children’s Hospital and share their thoughts about the hospital.

Inspectors visited Children’s Outpatients Department, the Hospital School and the main reception area in Clarendon Wing before sitting down for lunch to the rate hospital food!
Hospital staff have been working closely with Rosebank Primary School to understand how young people feel about the hospital and what can be learned from their observations.
In each area, Hospital Inspectors were encouraged to think about how that space made them feel, what they liked/didn’t like about it, as well as how it might be improved.
The overall feedback from young people was that they thought the hospital was welcoming for children and they enjoyed their lunch which was evident from the empty plates!

Following the visit pupils will lead a school assembly to share what they learned. The Leeds Children’s Hospital team will be looking closely at the Hospital Inspectors’ report to see what can be learned.
