RIDERS (Research & Innovation Document Engagement and Review Service) is here to help. The review service is aimed at CROS requiring a review of their patient facing documents (PIS, consent forms etc) before presentation to the Research Ethics Committee (REC).
We have a Patient, Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) group of over 70 members, with a variety of lived experiences and carers experiences from oncology, gastroenterology, neurology, endocrinology and paediatrics that can help.
The study’s patient facing documents are sent to a selection (around 5 people) of our PPIE members to review the documents. The members give us written feedback as well as taking part in a 90 minute a focus group. We then produce a PPIE output report with the findings as well as recommendations which helps to improve the clarity and understanding of the documents.
