Instructions for using your eye ointment:

  1. Read the label on the bottle. The way we may have attached the label may mean it sticks out from the bottle. Please hold the bottle so the label doesn’t touch your eye.
  2. Wash your hands.
  3. Gently pull the lower lid away from the eye. (Picture 1)
  4. Place a line of ointment (¼ inch or ½ cm) along the inside of the lower lid. (Picture 2)
  5. Try not to touch your eye with the tube nozzle.
  6. Gently close your eye and leave it shut for about half a minute.

Do not rub your eyes.

How to take care of your eye ointment

Do

  • Wash your hands before and after using the eye ointment
  • Recap the tube immediately after you have used the ointment. Store in a cool place
  • Use a ¼ inch or ½ cm of ointment each time.
  • Throw away after the treatment is finished. If treatment is for longer than four weeks a fresh tube should be obtained every 28 days

Do not

  • Touch the end of the nozzle or allow it to touch your eyelid or lashes
  • Breath on the end of the nozzle
  • Allow anyone else to use your eye ointment
  • Allow children to come in contact with the eye ointment
