What do I need to do before the test?
You may eat and drink as normal.
Please continue to take any medication you are already on, unless we have specifically requested you not to.
What does the test involve?
The amount of growth hormone in your body varies throughout the day, so it is necessary to take blood samples every 30 minutes.
If you wish a cannula, a fine plastic tube can be inserted into a vein in your arm to take the blood samples from.
How long will the test take?
The test will take approximately three hours to complete.
When will I get the results?
The results of this test will be reviewed by your doctor and discussed with you at your next clinic appointment, unless your doctor needs to see you before then.
