The Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT)
Your treatment is planned by a group of health professionals who are specialists within the field of neurological cancers. This group is known as the Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT).
The MDT meet together on a Wednesday morning to discuss and plan your treatment.
The MDT comprise of the following staff:
- Consultant Oncologists – Clinical/Medical
- Consultant Neuro Surgeons
- Consultant Histopathologists
- Consultant Neuro Radiologists
- Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS)
- Research Nurses
- MDT Co-ordinators
The role of the MDT is to provide a high standard of patient care. Following each meeting, information about your diagnosis and treatment options, is documented in your notes and on our computer records. This information is discussed with you at your clinic appointment, at which we encourage you to ask any questions or raise any concerns about your treatment and care.
You will also be provided with written information about your diagnosis. Treatment plan and copy letters of consultations are also available.
