If you suffer from under breast soreness, please follow the advice below:
- Clean/ wash the area at least three times per day.
- Pat dry.
- Wear a well fitted bra.
The following medication is available without prescription from your local pharmacy/ supermarket. If in doubt ask the pharmacist.
- Canesten/ sudocrem cream.
Please note
If the soreness has not improved in 2-3 weeks, consult your GP who may be able to prescribe other medication.
Consent to continue with the mammogram examination with under breast soreness
- To obtain a mammogram, your breast will have to be physically handled and placed in position on the machine.
- This examination could cause the skin underneath your breast to crack/ split.
- In the Radiographer’s opinion, your screening mammogram should be postponed until your skin condition has improved.
- If you wish to proceed with the examination, your informed consent is required.
