As a department we believe in giving the best possible patient care. We feel that contact from radiology at 1 week and 2 months post procedure allows us to make sure everything is well and allows you to discuss any concerns or issues you may have.
How will you be following me up?
There are three options: Telephone or e-mail or video link.
Telephone
The call would be around 5 – 10 minutes in length and on a telephone number you specify.
The follow-up would be in the form a post treatment questionnaire to complete and return. We will then follow-up any concerns.
Video link
The follow up, would be 5-10 minutes in length, and offers a face to face live time consultation. To access this you will need to have either a laptop/pc with a working webcam, microphone and speakers (or headset), or you’ll need a smartphone / tablet / iPad. The system runs via Google Chrome, therefore your chosen device will need to support this web browser.
How can I contact you if I need to?
We will provide you with a telephone number and an e-mail address to contact us if you have any concerns, at any time following treatment.
What questions will I be asked?
During follow-up we will:

- Check that any swelling which may be present post procedure is not excessive.
- Check that there is no ulceration of the treatment site.
- Check there is no altered sensation around the treatment site or in the local area. This may include sensory numbness, pins and needles and / or motor numbness (An inability to move a limb / hand / foot for example)
- If you have had bleomycin treatment we will also be checking you don’t have any respiratory issues such as a new cough that is not settling or shortness of breath on exertion or whilst at rest, difficult or laboured breathing, chest pain, abnormally rapid breathing, blue tinge to skin around lips fingers etc. or a fever
- Give you the opportunity to raise any questions or concerns you may have.
- Give you the opportunity to make any suggestions you have to improve the service.
Please note some swelling and discomfort following your procedure is a normal response to the treatment.
Please be aware
