The MS Team
MS Consultant Neurologists

The MS Consultant Neurologists will be able to discuss your diagnosis and answer questions you may have about your MS. They may discuss availability and suitability of MS treatments.
They work with an experienced trainee neurologist, the Specialist Registrar.
The consultants work closely with the other members of the MS team and your GP.
When they are local research trials of new treatment in MS you may be asked to consider taking part.
Some people only visit the clinic once for a particular problem. Others come on several occasions or regularly. Either way, we like to keep a register of people with MS for research and information purposes.

The AMSC role was created to place an MS Specialist in areas of greatest need for patients with advanced MS. When people with MS reach a more advanced stage of their condition then they may no longer qualifying for Disease Modifying Therapy leading to a potential disconnect with their MS service. This leads them reliant on their family and friends for their care. An AMSC’s is to reconnect with those living with advanced MS, whilst addressing and co‑ordinating their complex care needs.
