6 Weeks Post Injury
Hello, my name is Andy Brogdon, and I’m an orthopaedic specialist physiotherapist.
The exercises you’ve been doing should have helped improve your movement and overall function. Please remember that the injury you sustained typically takes six weeks to heal. It’s not uncommon to experience pain or swelling for up to three months after the injury.
Continue using pain relief as needed. If you’re satisfied with your progress and the outcome of your recovery, you can discontinue the exercises. You may return to sports after six weeks, provided you feel capable.
We generally do not follow up on this type of injury. However, if you’re still experiencing pain after three months, please contact us for further consultation. If we do not hear from you within three months, you will be discharged back to the care of your general practitioner.
