NACEL Bereavement survey

The National Audit for Care at the End of Life (NACEL) looks at the care people have received at the end of their lives across England and Wales.

The feedback that is given by staff, carers and loved ones helps to improve the care given to patients at the end of life in hospital. 

This is a national survey, and there is no obligation to take part if you do not wish to. 

We would like to invite you to complete the bereavement survey if your loved one;

  • died at the LGI or St James’s Hospital this year
  • was over the age of 18 when they died
  • did not die in the Emergency Department (A&E)
  • did not die from a sudden event

This national survey is not looking at everyone who has died in hospital. Views are collected in other ways for suicide and maternal deaths.
