Minimum Volume: Tube 1: 0.5 mL for HVA & 5HIAA. Tube 2: 0.5 mL.
Tube 3: contains preservative DTE DETAPAC, 1.0 mL for Pterin analysis. CSF must be collected into special tubes provided by the Biochemistry lab, and snap frozen on dry ice. Please contact the lab (x26922) the day before the lumbar puncture to arrange. Due to the expense of this test, samples are only dispatched to the Neurometabolic Unit (London) on request. Otherwise, samples are stored for 6 months. **Forms must be returned with the samples**. Instructions to lab: Store in safe-haven box at -80 C until dispatch.
