Vancomycin is a glycopeptide antibiotic used for the treatment of susceptible gram positive infections including MRSA sepsis. The primary aim for monitoring and adjustment of serum Vancomycin concentration is to achieve the serum concentration above the minimum inhibitory concentration and the avoidance of potential adverse effects such as nephrotoxicity or ototoxicity.
