Current routes into the profession are:
- A 3 year BSc (Hons) course in Radiotherapy
- A 2 year Post graduate or MSc course in radiotherapy: this is open to students with a previous degree in a science based subject
- A 3 year Apprenticeship Program
A career as a therapeutic radiographer is challenging and rewarding, mixing knowledge of physics, technology and cancer with the need for exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with the day to day care of patients undergoing cancer treatment.
All options lead to applicants being able to apply to be a HCPC registered therapeutic radiographer.
