What we do
The Children’s Respiratory Service is a state of the art tertiary service for the multidisciplinary care for a range of conditions including cystic fibrosis, congenital lung abnormalities, bronchiectasis, immunodeficiency, severe asthma, primary ciliary dyskinesia, dysfunctional breathing, rare lung diseases (e.g. interstitial lung disease), chronic lung disease of prematurity, sleep-disordered breathing and home ventilation.
We are based in a state-of-the-art outpatient respiratory centre with an associated Respiratory Ward (L38). You can find our services on A Floor, Clarendon Wing at our Leeds General Infirmary site.
Patients referred to our service can receive relevant testing during a visit to one of our clinics. We are able to offer pulse oximetry, lung function, and respiratory microbiology analysis.
We provide a bronchoscopy service, sleep physiology analysis and respiratory physiotherapy.
We have strong links with all the relevant paediatric specialties, including paediatric radiology, immunology, ENT, and cardiology, as well as adult services. We also work closely with other teams in Yorkshire.
