Outpatients Wharfedale
Our aim as a department is to deliver consistently high standards of healthcare, keeping patients and relatives involved and informed of their treatment, to achieve the best clinical outcomes.
The Outpatients department at Wharfedale Hospital hosts a diverse range of clinics from over thirty different specialities. Every week more than forty visiting consultants offer specialist consultations, diagnostic tests, treatments, and minor surgery. For a full list of the specialities covered, see ‘About Outpatients’ section, 'What medical specialities do you cover'.
Our consultant-led clinics are supported by highly trained nursing staff with the skills and knowledge to work flexibly across all specialities. This patient-centred service ensures a high level of individualised care for all patients, carers, and relatives who attend. Clinical practice is enhanced by sophisticated diagnostic equipment and treatments are administered using the latest technology.
We are proud our department is accommodated within a clean, pleasant, purpose-built environment. We have excellent standards of infection prevention, including 100% compliance on the recent hand hygiene audit. Our waiting areas are designed to put patients at ease - facilities include, children’s play area, televisions, nappy-changing rooms, and easily accessible toilets.
