Complement (Special tests)

Following consultation with the laboratory, and following the measurement of complement components C3/4 and functional assays (AP100, CH100), the measurement of individual complement components may be required.

Additional Information | Quantification of components may be appropriate but should be discussed with Clinical Immunology SpRs, Clinical Scientists or Consultant Immunology staff. The referral sites for these complement components differ. |
Turn Around | Refer to relevant laboratory for up to date turn around times, allowing an additional 10 working days for samples processing, dispatch and reporting and validation of the results (estimated 28days) |
Send to | Samples should be sent to the department of Clinical Immunology at LGI who will refer to appropriate referral lab (Sheffield PRU) |
Collection Con | Sample seperated within one hour of collection and frozen as soon as possible. Inform immunology immediately. |
