Who We Are

Our Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery team care for adults and children with many different conditions. For more information see our 'What we do' page.

We have one of the largest microsurgery services in the UK providing pioneering treatment of the highest calibre. 

We have the largest children's hand surgery service within the UK, offering a comprehensive package of care. This includes Children's Hand Surgery, upper limb spasticity and Erb's Palsy.

We have a dedicated Hand Surgery unit. further information relating to hand surgery can be found on the Adult Hand Surgery and Rehabilitation pages.

Our surgeons performed the first hand transplant in the UK, with the support of health professionals within the Leeds Teaching Hospitals. For more information, visit Hand Transplant in Leeds.

Our department offers a number of renowned subspecialty (Fellowship) training programmes for surgeons interested in Adult and Children's Hand Surgery, Microsurgery, Skin Cancer and Aesthetic Surgery.

We undertake a significant amount of clinical research and our department recently developed the first and only National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) funded Plastic Surgery Academic Clinical Fellow post within the UK.
