Introduction

Medical X-ray imaging is vital in helping to diagnose pathology and disease. It can also be used to assist in treating many conditions through minimally invasive techniques. In the Radiology Theatres at Leeds Teaching Hospitals we use X-Rays to assist with a variety of procedures, both diagnostic and treatment. Nearly all of our procedures are performed using local anaesthetic. For some procedures sedation or a general anaesthetic may be required.

There are two departments in the trust. One at St James’ University Hospital (SJUH) located in Lincoln Wing and one at Leeds General Infirmary (LGI) located in Jubilee Wing. We offer a range of vascular, urological and neurological interventional procedures for both adults and children. We have 5 rooms across both hospitals with one at the LGI dedicated to Interventional Neuroradiology.
