Services in a dedicated building
Our new Children’s Hospital will bring together all the services currently provided for children and young people in Clarendon Wing and Martin Wing at Leeds General Infirmary.
As part of the new development, there is an opportunity for us to develop our ambition to bring all maternity and neonatal services together, closer to our children’s services.
If you’re familiar with Clarendon Wing, you’ll know that it isn’t easy to find the Children’s Hospital as it doesn’t have its own entrance. It also shares space with adult health services, which isn’t an ideal arrangement for any of our patients.
By building our new Children’s Hospital from scratch, we have a rare opportunity to design spaces that are tailor-made for children, young people and their families. The hospital will have its own, dedicated entrance and we will build-in the technologies and facilities we need to deliver modern, flexible healthcare for our patients.
It will also have its own identity, which is so important in helping us to promote Leeds Children’s Hospital and its excellent reputation, inspiring patients, families, staff and people from Leeds and elsewhere.
