What apprenticeship are you doing/have you done?

I am doing Business Administration Apprenticeship.

Why did you choose to do an apprenticeship at Leeds Teaching Hospitals?

I decided to do an apprenticeship at Leeds Teaching Hospitals because I think it is a great way to start a career in the NHS. I was looking for the possibility to learn, and earn money at the same time. It was just perfect opportunity for me!

What are the benefits of doing an apprenticeship and why would you recommend it to others?

There are many benefits of doing an apprenticeship.

For me, because I grew up in Poland and English is not my first language, I was really looking forward to participating in Functional Skills Level 2 English and Maths. Gaining recognisable qualifications whilst earning money and getting work experience is what I was looking for.

If someone is just leaving school or considering a change of career path an apprenticeship is something I would definitely recommend!

Work culture at Leeds Teaching Hospitals amazed me and I am happy to be a part of it now. You can really feel people living by The Leeds Way values.

What difference does this apprenticeship make?

Whilst doing my apprenticeship I met many people at work and in at college, I have made new friendships and I gained confidence.

After finishing this apprenticeship I will have gained 3 new qualifications: completion of Functional Skills Level 2 Maths and English, Completion of Business Administration/ Customer Service Practitioner level 2 course and let’s not forget about all the skills I developed whilst performing my job.

I am nearly at the end of my apprenticeship, I would like to stay with the NHS and keep developing my knowledge. There are many courses offered for employees and I am looking forward to exploring what is available.

Do you have any advice for anyone interested in this apprenticeship?

My advice for anyone considering doing Business Administration Apprenticeship is to not wait any longer and apply, it has literally improved my life on many levels.
