Why be a Pop Up Member
So the Innovation popup is quite a unique proposition to me within the NHS, whereby innovators clinicians and academics can all come together in a place really, as a community as a family really. They can discuss ideas quite openly, and to do this at minimal cost so that you can engage with the NHS ecosystem without having to expend a large budget in order to do so.
It’s a great place for companies to come in and test their ideas out and see if there’s an opportunity to collaborate and work within this ecosystem in leads and beyond. The innovation popup to me is a really important catalyst in helping me get my business started in serving the communities in and around Leeds.
The board of NHS with access services, specifically around sign language translations being made with AI, we’re invited to join the popup in order to help advance our innovation around AI. to make it so that it would best serve the patients that’s intended to help, and the support that we get from the innovation popup meeting, the right people, the advice, the connections they’ve been really helpful to us being close to the people who will use our products and our services.
Having the ear of experts and the networking are all really helpful if you think of joining the popup, and it was a really easy decision for me. Some really great benefits in terms of superb networking every day and welcoming atmosphere, and most importantly that the ear and advice of some experts who are able to support you directly in your Innovations it means it’s a very obvious yes.
Here are our current Pop Up members:

Facial paralysis impacts over 4,000,000 people worldwide each year, due to Bell’s palsy, brain surgery, stroke, Parkinson’s and other diseases. Eye closure is generally regarded as the top functional priority restoration in patients experiencing facial paralysis. The absence of blinking can lead to extremely painful corneal ulceration and severe dry eye, either can cause visual impairment or irreversible visual loss.
Blinking is a mechanism that protects the eye and spreads tears over the cornea. The normal human eye blinks every 2-10 seconds, but with facial paralysis the ability to blink is usually impaired or absent.
As a direct result, many patients suffer from dry eye, headaches, extreme light sensitivity and image quality degradation. Currently, there is no solution that restores blinking. All treatment options are inadequate since they intend to alleviate the symptoms but not to restore blinking.
NeuroTrigger has developed the world’s first wearable device that automatically stimulates artificial eyelid closure in individuals with facial paralysis. Our system comprised of: TENS generator miniaturized and placed around the ear
daily-use disposable electrode. A Mobile App that can control the blink pace and the pulse intensity.
Our first generation device was cleared by the FDA under intended use of Prevention or retardation of disuse atrophy and muscle re-education to maintain or increase range of motion and we are planning our market penetration strategy.
