Making an OSCE Booking
You can make your booking online by using our OSCE booking tool.
When searching for your exam, please ensure you select the ‘Candidate’ tab.
If you are looking to sit an exam within the next two weeks and have not taken an exam within the last 10 days, please email us so we can check availability for you.
Step 1 – Register Your Interest
Email us to register your interest in sitting the Test of Competence. Once we confirm you are eligible, we will send you available dates that match your requested timeframe.
Step 2 – Choose Your Date
After agreeing on a suitable date, we will send you:
- A link to our booking system
- Instructions on how to make payment
Step 3 – Make Payment
You must either:
- Pay by card at the time of booking, or
- Provide a valid Purchase Order
Step 4 – Confirmation
Once payment is received, you will get a confirmation email. This email will include four documents that must be:
- Printed
- Completed
- Brought with you to the Test Centre on exam day

Are You Eligible to Make Your Booking?
Before booking, please ensure the following:
NMC Eligibility Confirmation
Have you received confirmation from the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) that you are eligible to sit the OSCE, including your 10-digit PRN?
Yes
- You can book your OSCE
No
- You must first join the NMC register
Correct Nursing Pathway
You must book the OSCE for the correct Nursing field pathway.
For example:
Adult (RNA) application
- Adult OSCE 10-station exam
Valid Passport
You must bring a valid, current passport every time you sit an OSCE exam or resit.
If you do not have a passport, please refer to the relevant NMC Candidate Information Booklet.
Matching Names Across Documents
Do the names on the below all match ?
- Your passport
- Your NMC application
- Your OSCE booking
If not, you must provide original evidence confirming your identity. This may include:
- A marriage certificate
- A legal affidavit listing all names you are known by
The Leeds OSCE Centre can provide general guidance but cannot advise on or resolve individual identity check matters.
Visa Requirements
Do you have a valid visa? It is your responsibility to ensure you have a valid visa for your test day.
If you cannot attend due to visa issues, the refund policy within our Terms & Conditions will apply.
If YES to all the above, you’re ready to book your OSCE.
Choosing a Suitable Date
Test dates are available 5 days per week.
Applies to:
- Full / New OSCE applications
- Partial Resit OSCE applications

Bookings close 3 days in advance to allow preparation time.
Costs
Full Sits
For a Full / New OSCE application: £794 (effective from 1 April 2019)
Resits
You must allow 10 days between your original test date and a resit.
- Partial resit: £397
- Full resit: £794
Partial Resit Criteria (ToC21)
Applies to candidates who failed:
- 1–7 stations
- Up to four stations across both APIE and skills stations
Exams are non-refundable if cancelled.
