Ward J44 or J45 walking route

Gledhow Gauntlet Inside From J46 or J47 - Take care going down the ramp.

Not as strenuous as it sounds, especially when you can reward yourself with a hot drink and snack from M&S or Costa half way round, along with a nice view. This route is inside only for times when the weather is bad or it’s too chilly outside. If its nice out and you fancy some fresh air, see route 7a for a walk to Gledhow that involves some time outside.

Accessibility

There are smooth corridors all the way between the ward and the seating area outside costa. There are many chairs along the way for a rest if needed. There is short incline when leaving Lincoln wing and a long decline when entering Gledhow wing. Just make sure you’re happy getting back up it.

Walking route directions

Start point. When leaving the ward corridor, turn left , and follow the corridor as it curves and goes up a small incline.

Gledhow Gauntlet Inside From J46 or J47 - When leaving the ward corridor, turn right, and follow the corridor as it curves and goes up a small incline.

2. When you reach the T-junction, turn right.

3. Continue along the corridor.

4. Turn left at the end of the corridor.

5. Turn right through the wooden doors, following the signs to Gledhow wing.

6. Take care going down the ramp.

7. Turn left at the bottom of the ramp.

8. Pass M&S on your left to reach the seating area. You have arrived. Feel free to have a rest (with or without a hot drink!) before heading back the way you came.

9. When you are ready to return, go back to the ramp you came down, passing M and S on your right.

10. Walk up the ramp and turn left at the top and follow the corridor as it later turns right.

11. Finish point. Turn right through the double doors as you get to the signs for Lincoln wing. Once in Lincoln wing, continue along the main corridor, until you reach ward J44/45 on your right.
