Breast cancer is a common disease, so it will not be uncommon to know or have heard of a family member or friend who has been treated for breast cancer. Your treatment may differ from their’s as your individual treatment plan will be devised by a group of healthcare specialists, collectively called the Multidisciplinary Team (MDT).
Breast cancer treatment can consist of a combination of surgery, radiotherapy, chemotherapy and hormone treatment. Not all of these are required for all individuals and they are sometimes combined in different orders depending on your particular type of breast cancer. Following the MDT meeting your individual treatment plan will be discussed and agreed with you.
