Ward 1 Wharfedale

Ward 1 is a multi-speciality surgical unit offering day case surgery and overnight stays. The unit also provides a dedicated treatment unit offering pain management procedures and haematology treatments and infusions.

Welcome to Ward 1, the nursing team hope to make your day surgery as comfortable as possible. Please ask us any questions if you are unsure about anything during your stay.

Ward 1 – Day Surgery Unit

The unit is a 23 bedded ward offering a consultant-based service, supported by specialist nursing teams, performing a wide range of operations covering the following specialities:

  • Breast
  • Ear, nose and throat
  • General surgery
  • Gynaecology
  • Ophthalmology
  • Vascular
  • Urology
  • Maxillo-facial
  • Plastics
  • Colorectal
  • Pain management

Our procedures are done under general anaesthetic and local anaesthetic with most of our patients going home the same day.
