The review that the Government has been carrying out into the New Hospital Programme, which aimed to place the programme on a more sustainable footing, has now concluded. The Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, Wes Streeting MP, made an announcement in the House of Commons on Monday 20 January 2025, that the new hospital at Leeds General Infirmary has been placed in Wave 2.
We are currently working with the national New Hospital Programme team to better understand the details of this announcement and what this means for our plans. While we do this, we are pausing our planned public engagement events.
We will keep our online form live to allow people to sign up for more information and we will share more details when we are able to.
