Children’s Cardiology outpatient appointments at Leeds are held in Cardiology Outpatients, E Floor, Jubilee Wing at our Leeds General Infirmary site. Where possible, appointments are held closer to where patients live at local hospitals throughout the Yorkshire and Humber Network.
What happens at an outpatient appointment?
Your child may have their height and weight checked. They will see the consultant cardiologist, or a specialty registrar, who will usually do a scan of a patient’s heart (echocardiogram). Sometimes other investigations might be necessary such as an electrocardiogram (ECG). Please bear this in mind as it can sometimes mean your appointment is lengthy.
You may meet one of the Children’s Cardiac Nurse Specialists in clinic. If not, you will be given their contact details in case you have any questions or concerns before the next appointment.
