Preparation for Birth and Beyond
Preparation for Birth and Beyond (PBB) is a free antenatal course for all first-time parents to help prepare for your baby’s arrival. There are 4 weekly antenatal classes and a reunion after your baby has been born.
Please book when you are around 24 weeks pregnant and not before this. This is so that you are due around the same time as others in the group and you are able meet up with your babies.

Birth after Caesarean
Have you had a previous Caesarean birth? Are you thinking about your options for your next birth and want clear, supportive information? We’re here to help!
Join our friendly online education session led by a midwife and obstetrician. This is a great opportunity to learn more, ask questions, and feel confident about your choices for your next birth.
The next session takes place on 29 April 2026 at 7:00pm – 8:30pm online via Microsoft Teams.

Preparing to Breastfeed
This free online class will provide you with all the information you need to get breastfeeding off to the best possible start.
It is run by our infant feeding team from 6pm-8pm every month – please email us for the next dates available to book.

Pelvic Health online class
This is a free online group class run by our physiotherapy team for anyone that is currently pregnant to discuss all things pelvic health. Groups run fortnightly – please use the link below to select a date and time.
The group will cover:
- The signs and symptoms of pelvic floor issues
- The importance of pelvic floor muscle exercises and how to do these
- How to reduce your risk of pelvic floor issues in pregnancy, the postpartum period, and throughout your life
- How to access help if symptoms do arise
The Pelvic Health group is currently only run in English. If your first language isn’t English, please ask your midwife or GP to refer you, or self refer on our website and request ‘pelvic floor information from group’.
Meet the Midwives at Leeds Baby Bank
Meet the Midwives is a friendly, midwife-led drop-in session running every Monday from 10am to 12 noon at the Leeds Baby Bank Hub in Armley.

Led by our experienced midwives, these sessions offer support and advice on pregnancy, baby care and help with booking appointments. Families can also access wider support such as guidance on housing and benefits, mental health, healthy lifestyles, and accessing essential items like food and baby equipment from the team at Leeds Baby Bank. Open to mums, dads, carers and grandparents – just drop in for a chat and get the support you need.

JANAM App
JANAM app is a maternity antenatal education app for South Asian women and pregnant people. It is available in 7 languages – Bengali, Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Urdu, Tamil and English for any South Asian maternity patients at Leeds Teaching Hospitals. Bump & Baby walks in Leeds
Join us for gentle movement in nature, friendly chats and the chance to ask a midwife any pregnancy or early parenting questions.

The walks may be cancelled in the event of ice, snow or torrential rain. If we cancel a walk, we will post on our Facebook and Instagram accounts and email anyone who has registered to attend.
Charges for car parking may apply depending on where you park at both park sites. Often you can find spaces at these times at the sides of both the park areas and avoid payment in the assigned car park space if it is safe for you to park there.
Bus services that run to Roundhay Park: Bus Routes: 2, 12, 3A, and 13A
Bus services that run to Temple Newsam: Bus Routes: The First bus services 19 and 19A run to Whitkirk, which is a short distance from Temple Newsam.
Please check the bus services are running before you travel.

Bump & Baby Fit classes
Bump & Baby Fit classes will help you keep your body moving throughout pregnancy and after birth. They include yoga and chair-based exercise.

Classes are £3 in leisure centres across the city during term-time – book online by selecting Bump & Baby Fit on the Active Leeds website.
Classes are free and include a swimming pass if you’ve been diagnosed with gestational or type 2 diabetes or have a BMI above 30. Please ask your midwife for more details or complete the referral form to check if you’re eligible.

Pregnancy in Mind is an antenatal group run by the NSPCC. It is for anyone with mild to moderate anxiety or depression in pregnancy. If you feel this is something that would be helpful for you, please speak to your midwife who can make a referral or email ‘hello’ to [email protected].

Maternal Journal classes
Our free Maternal Journal classes take place every Friday from 10am-12pm at Chapeltown Children’s Centre (LS7 4AW).
Come along and get creative, and learn more about pregnancy, birth and caring for your baby.
We welcome anyone who is pregnant or who has a baby up to 6 months old.
