In Leeds, children in reception year of school (aged 4-5 years) are offered a routine vision screening test in school usually conducted by the Leeds Community Healthcare 0 to 19 public health integrated nursing – Leeds Community Healthcare. This check aims to identify issues such as amblyopia (lazy eye) or reduced vision early and parents will receive a letter prior to the screening test.
