Cancelling your appointment
If you need to cancel or change your appointment, please give us a minimum of 24 hours’ notice, so we can offer your appointment slot to somebody else. We have a limited number of appointments so it is important to contact pre-assessment to let us know so we can offer your appointment to another patient. If you cancel your appointment twice we will refer you back to the consultant for a decision of future treatment and in the majority of cases unless there were exceptional circumstances, you will be discharged back to your GP.
Failing to attend your appointment
Patients who do not attend their pre-operative assessment appointment will be referred back to the consultant for a decision on future treatment. The consultant can re-refer to pre-operative assessment only in exceptional circumstances. The majority of patients will be discharged back to their GP.
