Blood Sciences

What We Do

The Department of Blood Sciences provides a 24 hour, 7 day acute service from the Leeds General Infirmary and St. James' University Hospital sites.

Information for given investigations and sample requirements can be found on the pathology tests and tubes database.

Clinical Biochemistry

For any enquiries regarding clinical advice, please contact the duty biochemist during core working hours (Monday-Friday 09:00-17:00) and on Saturdays 09:00 - 13:00. Outside of this, an on call Consultant Biochemist can be contacted for urgent clinical advice via LTHT’s main switchboard

Haematology

The Department provides a full repertoire of general Haematology tests. These include Haematology, Coagulation, and Morphology services.  A minimal amount of work is referred externally.

Accreditation
