Reporting a Problem
Please use the following details to get in touch with the POCT team to report a fault with a POCT device:-

Please state the ward/department, analyser type and a brief description of the fault, if known, when contacting the team. Please report the issue as soon as possible to avoid further downtime and risk of clinical incident due to analyser unavailability.
If you are reporting an issue with discrepant results out of hours, please download the relevant form and email to Point of Care to allow us to fully investigate first thing in the morning:
Incorrect Patient Details Scanned
If you are reporting an issue with incorrect patient details entered on the Abbott ID NOW or Roche LIAT Covid/Flu Analysers, please download the declaration form below and email to Point of Care to remove from the incorrect patient in PPM+:
Out of Hours
Monday-Saturday (17:00-08:30), all day Sunday
To report a problem with a blood gas analyser out of hours that relates to a cartridge change please contact the Biochemistry Department for your site via switchboard. They will be able to provide a cartridge and instruction sheet with a password for you to collect from the Laboratory. You may need to CARPS a Porter to collect this. If the problem does not relate to a cartridge change, or you have tried changing the cartridge and the problem has not resolved please contact Siemens on 0845 600 1955. Siemens will require the serial number of the analyser; you should be able to find this on a sticker on the front of the analyser. If you experience any issues with this procedure, please report it to the POCT team.
