A tumour marker for ovarian cancer. CA125 is elevated in patients with ascites, pleural effusions of any cause, and heart failure. CA125 varies throughout the menstrual cycle.

Additional Information Non specific marker for Ca ovary - CA125 is also elevated in patients with heart failure and ascites or pleural effusions of any cause. However, very high concentrations in cases of undiagnosed pelvic/abdominal mass may be suggestive of Ca ovary.
