Carbamazepine
For drug monitoring purposes, blood should not be drawn until a steady state has been attained. This will not be achieved until 2-4 weeks after starting therapy. Following the establishment of a steady state, further samples casn be taken after 3-4 days.

| Additional Information | The concentration of carbamazepine may be increased in liver disease as it is completely metabolised by the liver.
