Phosphate is the biological form that contains the mineral phosphorus. Most (about 85%) of the body's is found in bones. The rest of it is stored in tissues throughout the body. Phosphate is essential to support high energy reactions involng ADP and AMP. Measured as part of Ca/bone profile.
