The adequacy of prednisolone therapy is normally assessed by monitoring the disease being treated. However, measuring serum concentrations may be valuable when compliance or absorption is questioned.

Blood sample should be taken 2-3 hours after oral ingestion. Instructions to lab: centrifuge sample, separate and store serum in the freezer. Plasma also acceptable.
