Very long chain fatty acids (VLCFA), phytanate, pristanate

Very long chain fatty acids (VLCFA) are fatty acids with aliphatic tails longer than 22 carbons. Assay includes pristanic and phytanic acid quantitation. Clinical indication for requesting: investigation of peroxisomal disorders.
