Pregabalin is prescribed for treatment of neuropathic pain, epilepsy and anxiety disorder. Misuse potential is high and it is readily available from illicit sources. Measurement in urine is useful for checking adherence with prescription or detection of illicit use.

Additional Information Assay only available in urine. Gabapentin is measured at the same time. Daily drug administration will usually yield a positive result. Note that these drugs are excreted in the urine largely unchanged. Therefore it is not possible to confirm ingestion and exclude sample spiking by measurement of drug metabolites.
