Viral Genital Samples: Samples for investigation of vesicular and ulcerative lesions of genital tract
Detection of HSV1 or 2 by PCR in genital sites or skin is diagnostic for the presence of virus which may or may not be the cause of lesions. The detection of Treponema pallidum, a cause of Syphilis, is an indication of infection.
