Maculopapular rashes are characterized by a flat, red area on the skin with small confluent bumps. Rash may also appear erythematous or red. A number of viruses are implicated as the cause of this rash; commonly measles, HHV6, parvovirus and enterovirus
Further viral testing may be indicated depending on clinical details
