What does your job entail?

Working as a senior nurse (Sister) on our Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), I act as a role model for my junior team members in the delivery of a consistent high standard of nursing practice. I provide visible clinical leadership and promote teamwork within our multi-professional working environment. Not only that, but I led and ensured planning and delivery of patient care is aligned to the Trust values of being patient centred, collaborative, fair and empowered. 

What do you specialise in?

I specialise in a number of areas that include caring for patients with general, cardiac, oncology, renal & liver and neurological conditions. PICU is a very busy, fast-paced environment and it's where we look after our most unwell patients. 

What do you love about your job?

I really enjoy the teamwork aspect of my job. We share the same vision and are dedicated to ensuring our patients get the right care at the right time. My job offers a wide variety of opportunities that brings challenging work that helps enhance my knowledge and skills. In addition, the personal connections that I make with my patients and their families has a positive impact on me, knowing that I can make a difference in their lives.

What do you enjoy outside of work?

In my spare time I enjoy cooking and travelling! I love to try food from different parts of the world and then try to make it myself, sharing it with family and friends.
