The Hearing and Balance Centre is now known as The Hearing and Balance Service. We are located at Block 13, Seacroft Hospital, Leeds, LS14 6UH.
We are still running booked community hearing aid repair appointment services across Leeds. Please contact us on 0113 5181823 to book an appointment if you are having problems with your hearing aid/s.
We unfortunately can no longer offer hearing aid repair appointments at the Leeds General Infirmary, although there are still some specialised clinics running from the Ear, Nose and Throat department by appointment only.
Please email us on [email protected] if you have any general enquiries about our new services, to book or cancel an appointment or to request tubing to be posted out to you. However, if you have obtained your hearing aids from another provider such as Specsavers or Scrivens, we will be unable to supply you with aftercare for your hearing aids, and you should request an appointment with them.
Changes to St James’s Hospital hearing aid repair clinic
Please note our Hearing Aid Repair Clinic at St James’ Hospital is now closed permanently. Please contact us on 0113 5181823 to request a hearing aid repair appointment.
All of our hearing aid repair clinics run as appointment only but you can obtain batteries on production of your Leeds Teaching Hospitals Hearing Aid Battery Card whenever your local clinic is open. If you do not have one of these, you must obtain one by booking a hearing aid repair appointment on: 0113 5181823 or by email on: [email protected]
It is requested that you book an appointment for a hearing aid repair or service so that we are able to spend the correct amount of time with you. Also, some of our clinics may not be running due to staff mandatory training sessions or reduced staffing levels.
If you wish to post your hearing aids in for service or repair, direct this to:

Lost hearing aids
From the 01 January 2019 the NHS Trust will be charging for the replacement of lost hearing aids and hearing aids that have been damaged through neglect.
The minimum charge will be £80 for a single standard hearing aid. Other types of specialist aid could be more. Your audiologist should discuss this with you at your hearing aid fitting or hearing aid repair appointment.

Please ensure you have your hearing aid/s serviced at least once a year to ensure their upkeep. We would be happy to show you how to maintain them at home if you feel you could do this yourself.
The tubing on your hearing aid, whether it be a casted piece or a slim tube and dome, should be replaced regularly. We suggest having this done every 6 months’ to ensure continued successful use of you hearing aid.
Please note that we are unable to repair, maintain or issue batteries for hearing aids that have been obtained by another NHS Hearing Aid Provider such as Specsavers, Meanwood or Scrivens. We also are unable to offer any service or batteries for privately purchased hearing aids.
