The National Blood and Transplant Service (NHSBT)
Previously known as UK Transplant, NHSBT manage blood and platelet donation, stem cell and tissue donation. Their purpose is to save and improve lives.
This organisation collects information such as the number of transplants performed and how long they work for.
There are a number of projects on going in the renal transplant department. You may be approached to participate in a research trial or you may like to get involved with Kidney Care UK who fundraise for kidney services and provide support for people with kidney problems.
This website was launched by Kidney Research UK and Give a Kidney, a charity devoted to living donation. It provides any potential donors with a wealth of advice and support to guide them through their live donor journey.
