Biochemical Genetics provides a laboratory service for the diagnosis and monitoring of inborn errors of metabolism. Biochemical Genetics is a subdivision of the Department of Specialist Laboratory Medicine, Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust. For investigation of inherited metabolic disorders, a useful set of investigation guidelines can be downloaded from the website of the MetBioNet.
Additionally emergency guidelines for the management and investigation of certain inherited metabolic disorders can be found on the website of the at British Inherited Metabolic Diseases Group (BIMDG).
Biochemical Genetics laboratory is open from 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday.
