Professor of Reproductive Medicine and Surgery

Professor Adam Balen is a full-time NHS consultant. His special interests include all aspects of PCOS, Assisted Conception, Paediatric & Adolescent Gynaecology and Disorders of Sexual Development. Professor Balen practices both at Leeds Centre for Reproductive Medicine and Care Fertility Leeds.
Dr Jennifer Tamblyn
Consultant Gynaecologist and Subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery.

Dr Tamblyn is a specialist in advanced menopause care and led the establishment of the specialist premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) service at Leeds Trust. She currently works as a consultant for the NHS female fertility preservation, Paediatric & Adolescent Gynaecology, Reproductive Hysteroscopy, Early Pregnancy and Acute Gynaecology services at LTHT.
Dr N. Ellissa Baskind
Consultant Gynaecologist and Sub-Specialist in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery

Dr Baskind interests include all aspects of Assisted Conception, Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis and gamete donation. Dr Baskind practices both at Leeds Centre for Reproductive Medicine and Care Fertility Leeds.
Dr Harish Bhandari
Consultant Gynaecologist and Sub-Specialist in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery

As well as infertility, assisted conception and reproductive and benign gynaecology surgery, Dr Bhandari has special clinical and research interests in recurrent miscarriage, recurrent implantation failure and endometrial immunology. He is also the lead for fertility preservation for transgender people. Dr Bhandari is a part time consultant at Leeds Centre for Reproductive Medicine.
Dr Susie Jacob
Consultant Gynaecologist and Subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine.

Dr Jacob’s special interests are enjoying all aspects of reproductive medicine and takes a holistic approach when counselling on fertility optimisation and treatment options.
She undertakes all reproductive and emergency gynaecology surgery at both SJUH and LGI.
Dr Jacob also works with young women and girls struggling with different aspects of gynaecology including congenital anomalies presenting in both childhood and adolescence.
She is clinical lead for the Paediatric & Adolescent Gynaecology service at Leeds, providing both surgical and medical care for young women in her care.
Dr Suhair Ibrahim
Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology

Dr Ibrahim’s interests include all aspects of infertility at secondary care level. She also works in obstetrics and benign gynaecology and has a special interest in recurrent miscarriage. Dr Ibrahim practices at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and liaises frequently with Care Fertility Leeds.
Mr Patrick Gordon
Consultant Andrologist

Mr Patrick Gordon is a Consultant Andrologist who subspecialises in male factor infertility (MFI). Through Leeds Centre for Reproductive Medicine he runs the only NHS MFI practice in Yorkshire offering surgical sperm retrieval and complex microscopic reconstruction. Having completed fellowships in MFI in Leeds, UCLH (London) and Miami he also manages paediatric and spinal cord injury patients. He has recently joined the Andrology panel of the British Fertility Society (BFS) to set national standards in male infertility management.

Leeds Centre for Reproductive Medicine (LCRM) is an NHS service which accepts NHS referrals from General Practitioners (GPs). LCRM offers a secondary fertility service which involves the counselling and investigation of individuals and couples with fertility concerns.
If treatment is recommended, you will be referred to our partners Care Fertility Leeds for all aspects of fertility treatment including ovulation induction, IVF, ICSI, treatment with donor eggs, sperm and embryos and surrogacy. Care Fertility Leeds can also store eggs, sperm and embryos for fertility preservation purposes for people who want or need to delay starting a family.
