Mr Nigel Simpson: Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals and a Senior Lecturer at the University of Leeds. Nigel is also the NIHR Clinical Research Network National Specialty Lead for Reproductive Health.

Our Vision

Our vision is for Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust to be a world leader in clinical research developing new treatments which will as quickly as possible bring improvements for the women or pregnant people in our care.

The Reproductive Health and Childbirth Research Team in Leeds wants every woman or pregnant people to have the opportunity to participate in a research study, as participation in clinical trials/studies has been shown to improve outcomes in women or pregnant peoples health by 25%.* Therefore when you attend hospital you may be invited to take part in one of our research studies.

What we do

We provide the opportunity for Women or pregnant people to take part in one of the many maternity studies which are currently active within the Leeds Teaching Hospitals.
