Service

The Leeds Liver Unit based at St James's Hospital is currently one of the most active liver transplant centres in the United Kingdom. It provides care for adult patients with a variety of disorders affecting the liver,including,liver tumours, liver failure, Hepatobiliary disease and gastro-intestinal bleeding.
Eight Consultant Transplant and Hepatobiliary surgeons lead the Transplant service. Five Consultant Hepatologists lead the Medical Liver service; The combined service provides joint medical and surgical care to patients.
